JUBAL BATTISTI is a NYC based photographer and a dancer with Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet. His work has appeared in Dance Magazine, SuzyQ Magazine (Spain), Elle Decor Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, Metro NY, Pittsburgh Post- Gazette and the Silver Eye Center of Photography in Pittsburgh. He frequently collaborates with choreographers and dancers utilizing the intuitive kinesthetic timing and aesthetics developed through his dance experience. PERSONA a photographic journal and collection documenting SBDNY, by Battisti and Sidra Bell, is available now at www.sidrabelldanceny.org and at The Juilliard Bookstore, NYC. Resident Composer
DENNIS BELL (Creative Consultant) is a gold & platinum award-winning producer, arranger, songwriter, conductor, and music educator. Graduate of the High School of Music & Art, NYU (Piano/Music Theory) and CUNY Queens College (MA in Composition). Dennis is the founder and CEO of City Slicker Productions, Mark of Aries Music (BMI) and GuavaJamm Entertainment. Dennis has produced records by Doug E Fresh, Dave Valentin, New Voices of Freedom, and U2, among others. He was the musical director/conductor for the international tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and has written TV and Radio Jingles for the Drakes, Hardees, Roy Rogers, and Nabisco companies. His modern dance scores have been performed at The Yard in Martha’s Vineyard, The Arts Umbrella in Vancouver, Ailey II, and at Juilliard New Dances. His compositions for the modern dance/ballet CD, “Musique Pour La Danse Modern” was released in 2008.   www.guavajamm.net

 

Contributing Videographers:
ALEKSANDR POPOV (Videography/Media) is an avid, passionate videographer and editor, creating innovative video content for a variety of performing art organizations. Founder of PopovMedia, he created promotional and documentary media for Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School, The Metropolis Ensemble, Kaufmann Center, Wiley Publishing Company, Sing for Hope, New Triad for Collaborative Arts, Engendered Dance Festival and others. In the recent time he worked directly with such names as Monty Alexander, Antonio Ciacca, ETHEL Quartet, Jonathan Batiste, Mario Romano, Aaron Diehl, Etienne Charles, GALLIM Dance, Reverb Dance Festival, The Brother Joscephus and Revival Revolution Orchestra. Producing his recent TV-spot advertisement for Euro Piano Naples in Florida. Sasha holds Bachelor and Master degrees in from the Juilliard School in addition to being a virtuoso Bassoonist, and has often been seen featured as a soloist in concert series and with leading Orchestras in the U.S.

Resident Designer/Graphic Artists
CLAUDETTE WASHINGTON BELL (Graphic Design) is a marketing director and designer for several arts organizations including Sidra Bell Dance New York. Born in Harlem and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she received her Bachelor of Music-Teacher Education degree from New York University. She is an accomplished pianist and began her musical career at the age of 3 years old. She was a teacher of music in NYC for elementary through high school aged students, and worked with many diverse ensembles throughout her teaching career, specifically with a select group that formed the Bronx Borough-Wide Chorus where she was the accompanist and associate director for 7 years, and performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Madison Square Garden. Her career took a significant turn in the 1990s, and during a span of 18 years, she managed teams of designers and computer specialists at Morgan Stanley in New York City. Claudette has written and/or arranged music for New Voices of Freedom, Aretha Franklin, U2, Peter Gabriel, Celia Cruz, and many others, and has made appearances on the Joan Rivers Show, a music video with Lenny Kravitz, and the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. She has also appeared in TV commercials including Roy Rogers, Nabisco, and Pizza Hut. In addition to her designing SBDNY’s newsletters, website, brochures, etc., she presently teaches beginner to advanced piano students at her studio in White Plains, NY.

Contributing Creative Consultants/ Stylists:
DAKOTA SCOTT (Creative Imaging/Film) is a creative director with a focus on the visual and conceptual arts. His work extends from the realms of fashion to music, from film to performance. Drawing from previous experience as an editor at a New York-based fashion magazine and as a director of PR for a high-end womenswear label, he is able to create a unique aesthetic that appeals to a broad audience. In whatever medium he works, the main objective is to constantly progress and push the limits of art and its perception.

MONDO MORALES (Creative Imaging) is a native of Dallas, Texas. He attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, graduating class of 2000. Mondo was awarded the Presidential Scholar Award by President Bill Clinton and is also an alum of the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts. He has traveled throughout the U.S.A. and Mexico performing with Ballet Folklorico Nacional de Mexico, Florida Dance Theatre, Celebrity Cruise Lines, and Jana Hicks/Company. He is currently enrolled at Marymount Manhattan College where he will be graduating in May of 2012. While dancing he has also broadened his career as a Creative Image Director. He currently freelances as a makeup artist with MAC Cosmetics and Blue Michael Cosmetics and is a stylist in NYC. Mondo hopes to continue to work with companies like SBDNY to create unique, cutting-edge images
